Scholarships for Your Country

Entry Requirements - Foundation

  • Students who have a 60% pass in their Tawjahiya (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) can apply for the International Foundation Programme; you must also have an IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent
  • Students who have a 60% pass in their Tawjahiya (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) can apply for a Foundation Year Programme; you must also have an IELTS score of 6.0 or above

Entry Requirements - Undergraduate

English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Undergraduate study. The University of South Wales recognises the following English language qualifications:

  • GCSE English at grade C
  • IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each band)
  • TOEFL Paper based 550
  • TOEFL iBT 80

Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language Courses to prepare you for academic studies.


Academic Qualifications

  • Students who have a 2 year Diploma from a recognised institution can be accepted onto the first year of a degree programme
  • A-Levels and the International Baccalaureate are also accepted; please refer to our website or prospectus for entry requirements for particular courses

Undergraduate Advanced Entry/FCert HE International Postgraduate Preparation Course

  • Students with a Higher National Diploma (HND) or a Higher Diploma and an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher can be considered for advanced entry on to a relevant undergraduate degree programme
  • Students with a Higher National Diploma (HND) or a Higher Diploma and an IELTS score of 5.0 or 5.5 can be considered for the International Postgraduate Preparation Course

English Qualifications

  • TOEFL iBT 88

Academic Qualifications

Postgraduate entry for those who have one of the following:

  • 4 year degree with a 2nd class and above (50% or a GPA of 2 or above on the scale of 4, 4 being the highest)
  • For admission on to an LLM, you will need a 4 year LLB degree with a 2nd class or above
  • 3 year Honours degree with a 1st Class or 2nd Class can get direct entry onto a Masters course if they have additional work experience
  • Masters degree
  • For entry on to the MBA, students should have one of the above and at least 2 years relevant work experience.
