On 10th December 2011, the University of Glamorgan hosted a visit by the Brunei Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Hazair. The meeting took place at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, located in the grounds of the historic Cardiff Castle, and the venue provided an excellent opportunity to showcase how the University of Glamorgan Group offers outstanding learning resources and opportunities to gifted performers who wish to study for a degree. In addition to the discussions on the theme of music, colleagues from the Faculty of Health, Sport and Exercise and Glamorgan Sports were also able to brief the Minister on teaching and research within the sports arena.

Deputy Vice Chancellor Helen Marshall is shown with the Minister at a ceremony to commemorate the visit.
