Entry Requirements - Undergraduate

English Qualifications
Proficiency in English is essential for Undergraduate study. The University of Glamorgan recognises the following English language qualifications:

  • GCSE English at grade C
  • IELTS 6.0 (with minimum 5.5 in each band)
  • TOEFL iBT 80

Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language Courses to prepare you for academic studies.


Academic Qualifications

  • Applicants with a recognised Foundation qualification will be considered for direct entry to Bachelor degree courses.
  • Holders of the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum total of 24 points, or A – Levels obtained locally, will be considered for direct admission to Bachelor Degree courses.

Entry Requirements - Postgraduate

  • GCSE English at grade C
  • IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 5.5 in each band)
  • TOEFL iBT 88

Academic Qualifications

  • Applicants with the equivalent to a Lower Second Class Honours degree will be considered for masters programme entry
  • Applicants with a Masters degree will be considered for entry to Ph.D. studies
