Entry Requirements - Undergraduate

English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Undergraduate study. Where a student has completed English Language as part of their Hong Kong Certificate of Education (HKCEE) studies, a minimum of Grade C is required. The University of Glamorgan also recognises the following English language qualifications:

GCSE English at grade C
IELTS 6.0 (with minimum 5.5 in each band)
TOEFL iBT 80

Academic Qualifications

Holders of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Certificate will be considered against the standard UCAS tariff for each individual course for direct admission to first degree programmes.
Holders of the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 24 points or ‘A’ levels obtained in China will be considered for direct admission to first degree programmes. Please refer to www.glam.ac.uk/courses for detailed entry requirements. Students who do not meet the entry requirement will be considered for a Foundation year.
Holders of three-year college diplomas/Higher National Diplomas in a business-related subject will be considered for our BA (Hons) Management and Business, a one year top-up course. Please note a good IELTS score is required (6.0 minimum) or HKCEE Grade C or above.

IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 5.5 in each band)
TOEFL iBT 88

Academic Qualifications

Holders of three-year college diplomas/Higher National Diplomas and IELTS 5.0 will be considered for our International Postgraduate Preparation Programme (IPG), a one-year Pre-Masters course which leads directly to a wide range of Masters degrees. Please note we will not accept two-year college diploma holders for entry to our Pre-Masters programme.
Holders of a good Honours Bachelor degree will be considered for postgraduate Masters degree courses.
Applicants with a Masters degree will be considered for entry to Ph.D. studies.
