Entry Requirements - Undergraduate

English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Undergraduate study. The University of Glamorgan recognises the following English language qualifications:

  • GCSE English at grade C
  • 1119 C6
  • IELTS 6.0
  • TOEFL Paper 550
  • TOEFL Computer 213
  • TOEFL iBT 79–80

Please note the Malaysia University Entrance Test (MUET) is not currently recognised by the University of Glamorgan.

Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language Courses to prepare you for academic studies.


Academic Qualifications

  • Holders of the following qualifications will be considered for direct admission to Bachelor degree programmes: Sigjil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysian (STPM), Malaysian Independent Chinese Secondary School (MICSS), the Matriculation Certificate of the Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia, and the Canadian High School or Secondary School Diplomas, International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 24 points, or ‘A’ levels obtained in Malaysia. Please refer to www.glam.ac.uk/courses for detailed entry requirements. Students who do not meet the entry requirement will be considered for a Foundation year.
  • Certificate and Diploma holders from Polytechnics, Institutes of Technology, and private colleges will also be considered for direct entry to Bachelor degree courses. We are happy to consider for students for advanced entry where possible.

Entry Requirements - Postgraduate

English qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Postgraduate study. The University of Glamorgan recognises the following English language qualifications:

  • TOEFL Paper 575
  • TOEFL Computer 232
  • TOEFL iBT 90–91

Academic Qualifications

  • Holders of a good Honours Bachelor degree will be considered for postgraduate Masters degree courses.
