Entry Requirements - Undergraduate
English Qualifications
Proficiency in English is essential for Undergraduate study. The University of Glamorgan recognises the following English language qualifications:
- GCSE English at grade C
- IELTS 6.0 (with minimum 5.5 in each band)
- TOEFL iBT 80
Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language Courses to prepare you for academic studies.
Academic Qualifications
- Holders of the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 24 points or A-levels obtained in Mexico will be considered for direct admission to first degree programmes. Please refer to www.glam.ac.uk/courses for detailed entry requirements. Students who do not meet the entry requirement will be considered for a Foundation year.
- Holders of the Certificate of Preparatoria or Bachillerato will usually be required to do a Foundation year before progressing to their Bachelor degree. However, students with an average of 9 (MB) or above may be considered for direct entry to Bachelor Degree. For Students with a good level of English (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent) subject foundation years will be suitable. For those with a slightly lower level of English (IELTS 5.0 or equivalent) the International Foundation Year will be recommended.

- IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 5.5 in each band)
- TOEFL iBT 88

Academic Qualifications
- Holders of the Licenciado/Titulo Professional will be considered for postgraduate Masters degree courses.
- Applicants with a Masters degree (Maestria) will be considered for entry to Ph.D. studies.
