Entry Requirements - Undergraduate
English Qualifications
Proficiency in English is essential for Undergraduate study. The University of Glamorgan recognises the following English language qualifications:
- GCSE English at grade C
- IELTS 6.0 (with minimum 5.5 in each band)
- TOEFL iBT 80
Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language Courses to prepare you for academic studies.
Academic Qualifications
- Senior High School Graduates will be required to do a foundation year before progressing to their Bachelor degree. For Students with a good level of English (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent) subject foundation years will be suitable. For those with a slightly lower level of English (IELTS 5.0 or equivalent) the International Foundation Year will be recommended.
- Junior College Diploma Holders will be considered for direct admission to the first year of an undergraduate degree programme. Stronger candidates may be considered for direct entry to the second year. Please refer to www.glam.ac.uk/courses for detailed entry requirements.
- Holders of the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 24 points or ‘A’ levels obtained in Taiwan will be considered for direct admission to first degree programmes. Please refer to www.glam.ac.uk/courses for detailed entry requirements. Students who do not meet the entry requirement will be considered for a foundation year.
Entry Requirements - Postgraduate
English Qualifications
Proficiency in English is essential for Postgraduate study. The University of Glamorgan recognises the following English language qualifications:
- GCSE English at grade C
- IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 5.5 in each band)
- TOEFL iBT 88
Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language Courses to prepare you for academic studies.
Academic Qualifications
- Holders of a good Honours Bachelor Degree will be considered for postgraduate Masters degree courses.
- Applicants with a Masters degree will be considered for entry to Ph.D. studies.
