Choosing to study at the University of Glamorgan was one of my best decisions and the student experience at university is something I will never forget. The education at Glamorgan has equipped me for life.
When I came to Glamorgan for the International Welcome Week, I found everyone to be very friendly and helpful. I made friends with other international students very soon and in no time I felt like home. I found the staff and teachers to be genuinely interested in my success, they were approachable and helpful. I would give credits to the International Office as well, as they are the ones who give a positive move to the international atmosphere. They are open for new ideas and motivating the international students to organise events, which gives you a good feeling when you are part of the organising process.
I enrolled on the B.A. Business Excellence with Marketing in Glamorgan because Glamorgan Business School has a very good reputation and the graduate employment rate was high as well. I was expecting it to be somehow difficult but when I started the course I found that the curriculum is designed in a practical way, classes are more interactive and learning difficult things was easier than I thought. I never knew studying would be so much fun and interesting until I came here. Looking back on my year at Glamorgan, I have grown in my field and learned exactly what I needed to know in order to be successful in my career. The most valuable aspect of studying in the University of Glamorgan is the mindset that I gained throughout my learning period. The focus was on critical thinking and using business concepts practically. This will help me a lot in starting my career as I have am aware of using academics in practical scenarios, I feel confident enough to put myself forward for my ideas and give critical feedback for any problems.
Living in Treforest made me focus on my lectures and assignments while at the same time I missed the city life of Cardiff which is just 25 minutes away by train. Treforest has all the basic facilities for the students and it’s very easy to get to know people from other cultures. By the end of a year you know almost half of the students personally. This has helped me a lot to improve my communication with students from different backgrounds. As my extracurricular activities I had on campus gym and different societies in which I joined debating society that improved my critical reasoning and presentation skills to a higher level that will definitely help me in my career and personal life.
In retrospect it was definitely worth undertaking and finishing my Bachelors degree at Glamorgan. I definitely recommend the Glamorgan Business School to anyone looking for a Business school that has a committed faculty and administration, a dynamic curriculum, and a clear vision for achievement for their students.
